The Baptist Faith & Message

"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been create through him and for him"     -Colossians 1:15-16

As a member of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), First Shiloh Baptist Church recognizes the Baptist statement of faith adopted by the SBC.
We encourage you to visit the SBC website to learn more about what the Baptist denomination is all about. Simply said, there is one God, present as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Son (Jesus Christ) is the ONLY way to the Father.
We believe that the  Bible is without error; and it is without fault in all its teaching.
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty
Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible:
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds;
God of God, Light of Light, completely true God of completely true God;
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father,
by Whom all things were made:
Who for all mankind and for our salvation came down from Heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the virgin, Mary, and was made man:
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried:
And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures:
And ascended into Heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father:
And He shall come again, with glory, to judge both the quick and the dead:
Whose Kingdom will have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Ghost the Lord, and Giver of Life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified;
Who spoke through the Prophets.
And we believe in one holy church as the Body of Christ as taught by His Apostles.
We acknowledge one Baptism because of the remission of sins.
And we look for the Resurrection of the Dead,
And the Life of the world to come. Amen.
